Syrah & Shiraz

Syrah and Shiraz are two names for the same red grape. It comes from France’s Rhône Valley, where it is called Syrah, while Shiraz is the name used in Australia and some other countries. It typically gives deeply coloured wines with dark fruit and peppery spice and a full body. In Portugal it is widely grown in the Alentejo, Tejo, Lisbon and Setúbal regions, both on its own and blended with Portuguese grapes. This collection brings together single-variety Syrah and blends that include it; check each listing for the full grape list, region and vintage.
