Alicante Bouschet

Alicante Bouschet is a grape created in France in the 19th century that has become one of the signature red grapes of Portugal’s Alentejo. Unusually, its flesh and juice are red as well as its skin, which gives very deeply coloured wines. Alentejo examples are typically full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit and a firm structure. It is bottled on its own and blended, often with Aragonês, Trincadeira and Syrah. This collection brings together single-variety Alicante Bouschet and blends that include it; check each listing for the full grape list, region and vintage.
