Touriga Nacional

Touriga Nacional is Portugal’s best-known red grape and is grown mainly in the Douro and Dão regions, with plantings across the country. Its small, thick-skinned berries give deeply coloured wines, usually with dark berry fruit, floral notes often compared to violets, and firm tannins. It is one of the main grapes used in Port and is often blended with Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
